Breaking the News

Back when I was an undergrad at what is now Purdue University Northwest. I had the opportunity to write a report and give a presentation on a book called ”Breaking the News” by James Fallows. while this book is almost 25 years old now, its messages are still relavent today. For that reason I’m bringing it up today.
One of the points Fallows points out is a call for the media to disclose their financials just as elected officials are required. Reason being is the media has more influence. As part of my presentation, I proved his point in class. By a show of hands my fellow classmates recognized far more media personalities over elected officials in the House and Senate.
